Schweicher Annaberg

The Annaberg vineyard in Schweich is characterized by its uncompromising south-facing exposure and impressive steepness. On slopes with gradients of up to 65 percent, our vines take root in rare, red-weathered clay slate—a geological peculiarity of the Moselle region. This iron-rich slate intensely absorbs the sun’s heat and reflects it back onto the grapes.

The result is powerful, complex Rieslings with spicy notes and a distinctive, almost tart minerality. Old, ungrafted vines lend additional body and length. The Annaberg is known for its density, structure, and a distinctive character that draws its character from its exceptional soil composition.

Mehringen Blattenberg

Located directly above the Moselle, the Mehringer Blattenberg reveals its true character through the interplay of its proximity to the river and the slate soil. Steep single-post trellises on blue and gray slate force the vines to develop deep roots in the barren subsoil. The immediate proximity to the water helps regulate temperatures and brings a special clarity to the aromas.

Here, Rieslings are produced with precise fruit, delicate spice, and elegant, straightforward minerality. The Blattenberg impresses with its transparency and finesse—a terroir that masterfully maintains the balance between ripeness and tension.

St. Lawrence's Day in Leiwen

The Laurentiuslay is one of the most impressive steep slopes in the region. With gradients of up to 80 percent and striking, exposed slate rocks, it dominates the landscape above the Moselle. Gray and blue Devonian slate define the terroir. The barren, rocky terrain and the exposed south-facing slope demand consistent manual labor and the utmost care.

The wines reflect this terroir: Rieslings with clear, focused fruit, lively acidity, and pronounced mineral depth. Laurentiuslay is synonymous with precision, vibrancy, and an impressive salty note in the finish.

Dhroner Hofberg

Located in a cooler side valley of the Moselle, the Dhroner Hofberg benefits from a unique microclimate. The Dhron River not only gives the vineyard its name but also influences temperature patterns during the growing season. Blue and gray slate form the foundation for slow, even ripening. The extended growing season preserves freshness and intensifies the aromas.

This is where taut, finely textured Rieslings with vibrant acidity and crystalline minerality are produced. The Hofberg embodies elegance and cool precision.

Ockfen Goat Stone

Located on the Saar River, the Ockfener Bockstein is a steep, amphitheater-like slope above the village of Ockfen. Devonian shale rich in fossil remains and weathered greywacke characterize the stony, dark soils. The interplay between the cool Saar climate and heat-retaining rock creates an exceptional microclimate. Ripening proceeds more slowly, resulting in particularly nuanced and distinct aromas.

The wines exhibit clear fruit, lively acidity, and a striking, often salty-smoky minerality with floral nuances. The Bockstein stands for finesse, energy, and an unmistakable Saar heritage.
